Care for Your Bag
Lovern Leather Goods are made with traditional vegetable tanned leather. Unlike less environmentally friendly, chemical-based methods, vegetable tanning uses tannins and other natural ingredients such as wood, tree bark, leaves, fruits and roots. Here are some ways to love and care for your bag.
It’s best to keep your bag away from prolonged intense sunlight, heat and humidity.
Avoid heavy downpours.
If your bag gets wet, blot with a paper towel, and then pack loosely with paper and allow it to dry naturally. Never place your bag in direct heat or sunlight to dry.
If your bag gets soiled, try dabbing the leather gently with a clean, dry cloth and mild leather cream. Before using any products, always test a small, non-visible area first. Apply product to a cloth rather than directly onto the leather.
Exposure to oil, ink, water, makeup and permanent dyes can stain leathers.
Be careful of pigment transfer from dark coloured clothing, for example denim. Light coloured leather is more susceptible to marking and so requires extra care.
When storing:
- Undo the buckles in order to reduce the impressions created.
- We recommend keeping your bag in the handmade dust bag we provide, if storing.
